St. Luigi Church, Bhandari Village, joyfully celebrated its Silver Jubilee with a two-day programme held on the 10th and 11th of April 2026, marking 25 years of faith and witness in the village.

The first day of the celebration began with the Blessing of the Jubilee Pandal by Rev. Fr. George Antony, the Parish Priest. This was followed by the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr. Victor Renthungo. After the Holy Eucharist, Rev. Sr. Rose Chumbeni SABS gave the exhortation.

The second day commenced with the Blessing of the Jubilee Monolith by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima. The Jubilee Monolith was unveiled by Shri Achumbemo Kikon, the MLA of the region. This was followed by the Holy Eucharist celebration led by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, during which 20 people also received the Sacrament of Confirmation. After the Mass, a short Felicitation Programme was held, followed by the Jubilee Feast.

The event was an inspiring witness to faith and collaboration. Though there are only four Catholic families within Bhandari Village, the grand celebration was made possible through the active support and unity of the entire Parish community.
