On 18 March 2026, St. Joseph Pain and Palliative Care Centre marked a significant occasion with the Blessing and Handover Ceremony of a new ambulance, generously sponsored through the CSR fund of South Indian Bank. The program began with a prayer service led by the candidates, invoking God’s blessings on the vehicle and all those who would benefit from its service.

The ceremony included the felicitation of guests and the formal handover of the ambulance. Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, blessed the ambulance and offered prayers for the safety and well-being of patients, caregivers, and healthcare workers. Addressing the gathering, he commended the Centre’s dedicated service and commitment to providing compassionate care to the sick and those in need of palliative care. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to South Indian Bank for their generous support through the CSR initiative, which made the procurement of the ambulance possible and will greatly benefit the patients and the wider community.

Words of appreciation were shared by Mr. Anand Mathew Stanley, AGM and Regional Head of South Indian Bank, Kolkata, who expressed his joy in supporting a healthcare initiative that directly benefits the community. The new ambulance will enhance the Centre’s ability to provide timely transportation for patients requiring palliative care, medical consultations, and emergency referrals.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Sr. Teris MSJ, Administrator and Superior of St. Joseph Pain and Palliative Care Centre. The event was a memorable occasion that reflected the spirit of collaboration and service, while marking an important step in strengthening the Centre’s healthcare and patient care services.
