The newly constructed St. Francis Xavier Church was blessed and dedicated by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil the Bishop of Kohima on 1^st June, 2024. In fact, the Catholic faith was embraced and established in Nsunyu (Kithagha) village in 1987 through a handful souls in person of late Aghichen Semy, late Shelamvii Semy, late Kapa Tep, late Shapflithong Semy, late Ghiga Semy and so on. As per record on placed and therefore their names are being ever cherished and remembered in catholic family as pioneers, they all lived as good Catholics and died in Catholics faith in their aged, hence, without much youngsters to follow their footsteps, to carry forward the same spirit in vibrant manner as expected, that led to almost extinction of the existed St. Francis Xavier church of Nsunyu (Kithagha). Nevertheless, it rather remained inactive for some years for one reason or the other, likewise, that interval period of few gap generations had created huge space of absence with no leader and family to uphold the faith actively, except a single member Mr. Yanilo Tep being left behind, the last man standing till today without succumb to any influences or pressure.

No matter, the Kithagha & Chunlikha Catholic community has now, new addition of chapter in reviving the Catholic faith undying in line with the past legacy kept, by few new active members especially Mr. Sukhavi Tep, Mr. Kazun Magh and Mr. Khonkeya Semy in association with Mr. Hontheni Magh of Tesophenyu, in a very humble beginning officially on 1st January, 2017 with Christmas feast arranged by Mr. Hontheni Magh and subsequently the rest too followed the suit Mr. Sukhavi Tep & family in 2018, Mr. Khonkeya Semy & family in 2019, Mr. Yanilo Tep in 2021 and Mr. Kazun & family in 2023. Today, The Kithagha & Chunlikha Catholic community is being blessed with 6 (six) families comprising of about 30 (thirty) members. Even though the beginning is always hard yet “the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, yet when full grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the birds of the sky come and dwell on its branches” (Mathew 13: 31-32).

In good faith and always hope, with great respect and congenial relationships in and around, the community is immensely honoured with new church installation today, which is named after the same St. Francis Xavier Church in Catholic tradition for Kithagha & Chunlikha Cathalic community at Nokaka, Tesophenyu. A site is graciously and pricelessly donated by Shri Sentheyi Kath & family of Tesophenyu New, a prominent and visionary citizen, a bosom friend of K. Ashiio Magh, this sanctified and consecrated church is a reality now, through the concerted efforts of most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, the Rengma catholic community and most lovingly, the benefactor Shri Siby James Aykkarathundathil, from the diocese of Kottayam, Kerela in memory of late Thomas, Jose and John Aykkarathundathil and countless well-wishers in both prayers and materials. Mr. Mathew Tep, the convener of construction, his unseen contributions, service rendered and supervisions are thankless and unnoticed but praiseworthy, remarking this day the 1st June, 2024 as dedication day in a suitable manner in the presence of various prominent leaders and believers across.
