A new school building at St. Joseph campus, Songlhuh was inaugurated by Shri. Johny Ruangmei, Joint CEO, NSDMA, Govt. of Nagaland and President of the Catholic Association of Nagaland which was blessed by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Nagaland in the presence of various dignitaries, heads of various institutions, GBs of neighboring villages, priests, nuns and well-wishers. The event began with a prayer dance performed by the students, followed by words of welcome from the Principal Rev. Fr. Thomas PJ.
The chief guest Shri. Johny Ruangmei, in his speech mentioned about the ‘Universalism’ of the Church saying that the school stands to serve the educational and spiritual needs of the populace irrespective of denominations. He also challenged the students to be dreamers and visionaries like their patron Saint Joseph. His Lordship Most. Rev. Dr. James Thoppil exhorted the community to encourage vocations among the youths who would become agents of growth in the society. The head GB of the village Mr. Seikhothang Mangzel also expressed his gratitude towards the church and the Bishop in particular for the genuine concern over the growth and development of the students in the area. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. James Haokip, an assistant teacher of the school.
