Sacred Heart Church (SHC) Bhandari celebrated the golden jubilee on December 9 and 10 2023, at public ground, Bhandari. The celebration commenced with an invocation by Phyokamo Patton and unveiling of the jubilee flag by Thechamo Kikon.
Assistant Parish Priest Sacred Heart Church Bhandari, Fr Ebin blessed the jubilee hall and Sister Molly welcomed the congregation inside the jubilee hall by cutting the ribbon. Achumbemo Kikon MLA of 40 A/C Bhandari, who graced the jubilee encouraged the people to grow and strengthen their faith.
Rev. Fr Amos, who was the main celebrant on the first day challenged the faith of the people and encouraged the parishioners to focus and emphasize on the youths and children to build a strong faith in the Catholic community.
Rev Father Philip Mhonchumo (MSFS), Rev Father Joseph Chakkalackal (MSFS), and James Ezung Lotha Catholic Union president, who also attended the golden jubilee celebration conveyed jubilee greetings to the congregation.
The second day commenced with a blessing of the jubilee monolith by Rev. Dr James Thoppil Bishop of Kohima Diocese followed by a procession to the jubilee hall. Rev Father Philip Yanpvüthung hosted the Eucharistic Celebration and Rev. Fr. Matthew Rhanben of parish priest Sacred Heart Church Bhandari welcomed the faithful people with a brief history of the Church. He thanked the God and the community for achieving the milestone of 50 years Golden Jubilee. During the golden jubilee celebration, 30 believers took first communion and 30 believers took the Holy Confirmation. The Eucharistic celebration ended by blessing the community by Rev. Dr. James Thoppil followed by jubilee fest.
