The Rengma Catholic Women Association organised a one-day seminar at St. Peter’s Parish, Tesophenyu, on 12th July 2025. The seminar witnessed the participation of around 85 women from different villages and towns along with several Church leaders. The resource persons for the day were Rev. Fr. Gwatilo Alex Tep, Bishop’s Secretary, and Rev. Fr. Kokto Kurian, Diocesan Youth Director.
The programme began with an introductory session led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. John S. Kavas, who warmly welcomed the participants and commended the association’s executives for their commendable initiative. In her presidential address, Mrs. Catherine Kez, President of the Association, expressed gratitude to the participants for their positive response and active involvement. She urged the women to take full advantage of the seminar to deepen their faith and thereby strengthen their families.
In the first session, Rev. Fr. Gwatilo Alex Tep delivered a talk on the theme “Sacraments of the Catholic Church.” He highlighted the importance of understanding the reasons behind the Church’s teachings, encouraging participants to embrace faith with greater conviction and meaning. In the second session, Rev. Fr. Kokto Kurian spoke on “Catholic Faith,” explaining its richness through Scripture, Sacraments, Saints, and the living tradition of the Church. He reminded the participants that the Catholic Church is complete in itself and encouraged them to take pride in their faith.
The seminar was further enriched by special songs presented by different women groups, adding a spirit of joy and fellowship to the gathering.
The day concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. John S. Kavas, bringing the seminar to a prayerful and grace-filled close.
