The Journey: Celebrating 50 Years of St. Peter Catholic Church, Nchan

The Golden Years of Faith was celebrated from 29th– 30th December, 2024 on the theme “Nang keringbe, nangtelung pelane Krista Tingwang hangge peigut gaize tinggim ge ning heura gekua gai lelou (Lay Up for Yourselves Treasures in Heaven)”- Mt. 6:19-20.
Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima was the main celebrant and Shri Dr. Johnny Ruangmei, President, Catholic Association of Nagaland was the special guest of the Golden Jubilee Celebration. 
The blessed event began with blessing of the Jubilee Hall on 29th December, 2024 by Rev. Fr. Francis Huwn Reylang, Parish Priest, Tening which was preceded by welcome ceremony. During the welcome session Rev. Fr. Bamhingbe Joseph, MSFS addressed the congregation on the theme.
The inaugural programme was held on 30th December, 2024; the Special Guest hoisted the Jubilee Flag and the Jubilee stone was unveiled by Shri Letgong Patrick, Apiculture Officer, Dept. of Land Resources and Blessed by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima.
The Holy Banquet proceeded with Eucharistic procession and the sacred sacrament was presided by the main celebrant of the event. During the Holy Mass, the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation  were blessed and received by eight (8) and twenty-one (21) respectively from Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima.
Felicitation and gratitude hour was held immediately after the Holy Mass.
The Eucharistic Procession was another highlight of the celebration which was led by Rev. Sr. Jennifer, CMC and Rev. Fr. Pehiachanglu Peter as the monstrance bearer.
During the festivity, various parishes and individuals presented special numbers, speeches and the cultural dances were performed by the host church.
 The magnificent event concluded with Thanksgiving service. The Golden Jubilee Celebration was graced by fourteen (14) parishes and approx. 600 attendees participated
